PARENTS

Parents are a vital component of any well run scout troop. Each Scout deserves at least one caring adult. Being a Scout parent is also a learning experience. It is difficult to let go and allow our youths to manage themselves. The reward comes as we watch out children grow into young adults who are capable of handling the conflicts, problems, and issues life throws at us. This is the process of watching our Scouts develop into leaders.

Leaders also require support and governance. The troop is supported by an adult board (The Troop Committee), who provides a budget, coordinates troop activities, and helps the Scoutmaster and the Scouts execute the outdoor program and other activities. Most committee positions require an hour per month or less in active task execution.

All adult leaders are required to complete training in order to participate with the troop. Background checks are also required.

Uniforms can be purchased at the NEIC Scout Store in Vernon Hills or at the Official BSA Online Scout Store .

Troop Committee Meetings are held every month. We meet the second Tuesday of each month from 7:30 - 8:45 pm during the Troop meeting in the basement "Couch Room" at Northminster Presbyterian Church.
